ACHC Resumes 24/6 ER Service
The Emergency Room at Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal (ACHC) will re-open for regularly scheduled 24 hour service on Thursdays beginning  October 7, 2010.

The ACHC emergency room had previously been closed for 24 hours on Tuesday and Thursdays since September 8, 2009 due to physician shortages.

We are pleased to officially welcome Dr. Ken Buchholz back to our community. His addition to the Annapolis Community Health Centre ER physician schedule has enabled us to re-open for service on Thursdays, says Janet Knox, President and CEO of Annapolis Valley Health.

Knox also adds that Annapolis Valley Health remains focused on increasing access to community based services in the Annapolis area and enhancing services available through Annapolis Community Health Centre.

Annapolis Valley Health remains in active recruitment mode for further physician shortages in the area of Annapolis Royal, Berwick and Middleton.

The emergency room at Annapolis Community Health Centre remains closed from:

8 AM Tuesdays to 8 AM Wednesdays until further notice

Anytime you have an emergency, please call 911. Anytime you require health advice and would like to speak a nurse, please call 811.

The Emergency Rooms at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton, Digby General Hospital and Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville are  available for emergency care.

The Out-Patient Clinic at Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, Berwick is also open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Fridays 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and weekends/holidays from 10:00 am  6:00 pm for non-emergency care.
